This modernised coaching inn provides restful rooms with a rustic elegance, and simple, tasty local food. Parts of the building date back to 1135, and the inn's crooked floors and modest decor stylishly echo its origin. The Olde Bell is one hour from Central London, and 20 minutes from Heathrow via good transport links. In warmer months, enjoy local ales and food from the 'summer kitchen' in the huge meadow garden. The Olde Bell is a re-invention of the traditional English Inn. It is not a hotel where the rooms dominate, but where the common spaces are just as important. The buildings are almost like a village - the main building for the overnight guests and locals, with others for private gatherings. Not at all like a typical modern chain hotel!
